Tetbury Music Festival 30 Sep - 3 Oct 2010

The programme opens on Thursday with the Brodsky Quartet. They will be joined by Roger Vignoles, who is our Artist in Residence throughout the festival. The programme includes the String Quartet by Barber and the F minor Piano Quintet by Brahms

On Friday the theme is "love won, love lost" with Elizabeth Watts and Mark Padmore singing Schumann and Schubert. Elizabeth Watts won the Rosenblatt Song Prize at Cardiff singer of the Year in 2007 and was a Radio 3 New Generation Artist 2007-2009.

On Saturday morning we are delighted to be joined by Jonathan Biss. This young American pianist is noted for his prodigious technique, intriguing programs, artistic maturity and diverse repetoire. He is another Radio 3 New Generation Artist, 2002-2004, and will be performing pieces by Janacek, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert.

On Saturday evening Julian Bliss (clarinet) and Antoine Tamestit (viola) will join pianist Roger Vignoles in a varied programme ranging from Mozart to Britten. This concert will be recorded by BBC Radio 3 for later transmission.

On Sunday at 5pm, Academy of Ancient Music return to the Tetbury Music Festival with an all-Bach programme.  Elizabeth Watts (soprano), Pavlo Beznosiuk (violin) and Frank de Bruine (oboe) are the soloists, with director and harpsichordist Richard Eggar.

Last year some of the concerts were sell-outs before the event, so you might want to take advantage of priority booking by becoming a Dolphin.

We look forward to seeing you later this year.

Graham Kean and Elise Smith, Co-Directors
